About Lecturer:
Dr. Donghai Mei obtained his Ph. D degree in chemical engineering from
University of Petroleum in China in 1996. He did his postdoctoral research in
Tsinghua University and University of Virginia. In 2006, he took the current
position as research scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His
major research focuses on the quantitative understanding of reaction mechanisms
underlying the macroscopic phenomena in chemical transformation processes;
envisioning rational design of novel catalysts and improvement of renewable
energy production and electrochemical storage technologies. Of particular
relevance are hierarchically multi-scale modeling and simulations across all
relevant time and length scales.
