Junbo Gong was born in Xinyu, Xiangxi Province. He received double bachelor degrees (1995) from Tianjin University in industrial chemistry and technical economy. He continued the education in Tianjin University and received a Ph.D. (2001) of chemical engineering. After a postdoctoral research in Tianjin Teda economic and technological development zone, he joined the faculty of the school of chemical engineering and technology at Tianjin University. In the intervening two years, he did postdoctoral research in the school of pharmacy at University of Michigan. At present, he is full professor with tenure of Tianjin University and executive director of National Engineering Research Center of Industrial Crystallization Technology. He has published 242 papers and many of them are in top journals like Chemistry of Materials, Chemical Engineering Science, Crystal Growth & Design, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, etc. He applied 116 invention patents and 76 of them were authorized including 2 American invention patents.
