About Lecturer: 
Dr. Jaehong Kim is currently the Barton L. Weller Endowed Associate Professor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering in School of Engineering and Applied Science in Yale University. His areas of expertise include: 1) environmental implication and application of carbonaceous nanomaterials; 2) development of upconversion phosphor technology for environmental application; 3) ozone and UV disinfection process optimization and design; and 4) membrane process evaluation and simulation for the removal of emerging organic and inorganic contaminants. Kim received B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemical and biological engineering from Seoul National University in Korea and a Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Kim previously held the Carlton S. Wilder Endowed Professorship and the Georgia Power Distinguished Professorship at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is the recipient of various awards, including the Bill Schultz Junior Faculty Teaching Award from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech, a Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers, a Top Environmental Technology Paper Award from the American Chemical Society, a Paul L. Busch Award from the Water Environment Research Foundation, an Excellence in Research Award from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech, and a CETL/BP Junior Faculty Teaching Excellence Award from Georgia Tech.
