2014 International Symposium on Plasmas for Catalyses and Energy Materials Held in Tianjin University

2014 International Symposium on Plasmas for Catalyses and Energy Materials (ISPCEM-2014) was successfully held in Tianjin University from Sept. 13 to 16, 2014. 72 scientists from China, USA, UK, Netherland, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, India and Belgium attended the symposium. More than ten leading scientists including Prof. Jieshan Qiu, Prof. Mohan Sankaran, Prof. Erik Neyts, Prof. Young Sun Mok, Prof. Aart Willem Kleijn, Dr. Hyun-Ha Kim, Dr. Baldur Eliasson, Prof. J Christopher Whitehead, Dr. Kenji Ishikawa, Prof. Wei Chu, Prof. Yi Cheng, Prof. Xinhui Xing, Prof. Xiaoxun Ma and Prof. M.C.M. van de Sanden presented in the symposium. The plasma applications in the catalyst preparation, catalytic reactions and energy materials have been extensively discussed during the symposium. There were several presentations on the study of mechanisms in the molecular level. Utilization of greenhouse gases, global warming, solar energy, exhaust gas treatment and hydrogen energy were the key topics of the symposium. Future development has also been discussed. The symposium will be very helpful for the future studies and sustainable development of plasmas for catalyses and energy materials.
